COMPETITIVE ALLSTAR CHEERLEADING PROGRAM
WELLINGTON FLORIDA

Try Outs Process

What You Need to Know

Team evaluations are the first step of every Allstar's season — here's exactly how they work.

Every Athlete Gets a Team

Our try-outs are evaluations, not cuts. No athlete is turned away — coaches assess each athlete's current skills so we can place them on the team where they'll grow, compete, and shine. First time in a cheer gym? That's exactly what our Novice program is for.

What Coaches Look At

During evaluations, our coaching staff assesses four areas. Athletes are never expected to have all of these — we're finding a starting point, not a finish line:

Tumbling

Current running and standing tumbling — anywhere from a forward roll to a full.

Jumps

Toe touches, hurdlers, and jump technique, height, and flexibility.

Stunting

Body positions, strength, and comfort as a flyer, base, or backspot.

Performance

Energy, coachability, and showmanship — the heart of all-star cheer.

What to Expect on Evaluation Day

  1. Check InArrive about 15 minutes early to sign in and meet the staff. Parents relax in our viewing area — we have two large viewing windows.
  2. Warm UpAthletes stretch and warm up as a group with our coaches, just like a real practice.
  3. Skill EvaluationSmall groups rotate through tumbling, jumps, and stunt stations. Coaches keep it fun and low-pressure — especially for first-timers.
  4. Team PlacementAfter evaluations, coaches place each athlete by age and skill level, and you'll receive your athlete's team and practice schedule.

What to Wear & Bring

  • Fitted athletic wear (tank/t-shirt and shorts or leggings)
  • Clean athletic or cheer shoes
  • Hair pulled up and away from the face
  • No jewelry — it's a safety rule on the mat
  • Water bottle and a great attitude!
